West Virginia University’s EcoCAR team will leave for Daytona, Fla., Wednesday (Jan. 6) for preliminary judging in the competition’s Winter Workshop.

In Daytona, judges will assess the team’s progress in implementing its design, in addition to outreach efforts aimed at increasing public awareness of and interest in alternative vehicles.

“I am looking forward to traveling to Daytona because I was not a part of the last workshop. Controls have always been a large part of the work and will be of great importance next semester. I plan to learn how to use some of the tools we have, thanks to the great sponsors that will be at the workshop,” said EcoCAR Team Radar Alan Kusil.

Kuskil added, “The beach weather should be pretty nice too!”
