Outreach Team Member Returns to Alma Mater to Promote EcoCAR!
On Thursday, November 5, Cate Mihelic, a public relations senior and an EcoCAR outreach team member, traveled to Lumberport Middle School to teach seventh- and eighth- graders about the EcoCAR Challenge. The school visit was particularly special to Mihelic because she was a former student at Lumberport Middle School!
According to Mihelic, “Returning to my middle school was a really exciting experience. I am really happy that I have become a part of something that is interesting to the students, as well as to my old teachers. Sharing information about EcoCAR and WVU with everyone was such a great feeling! I was proud to be invited back and I hope that I’ve made all of the administrators and faculty proud too.”
Not only did Mihelic present to her alma mater, but she also had the opportunity to be interviewed by WBOY, a Clarksburg news station!
“Being interviewed for the news was slightly nerve-wracking. I knew the key messages that we wanted to get out to the public, but I was
still a little nervous having the camera recording me. I think it was a great opportunity though!” said Mihelic.
